The Bordello of Death

It is 1875, soon after gambling has been legalised.

The American west is booming.

Two Rivers, Mississippi, is a mining town which has grown from a few tents at the frontier of the Wild West to a modern boom town. The town has law and order in the able form of Sheriff Robert Burbank, a town council and there is even talk of building a school.

The Lucky Spur Hotel is a popular Bordello on the edge of town, tolerated by most because Queenie (the madam) keeps a good clean house and she is one of the town founders.

Recent arrivals such as Preacher Ethan Carlyle have been less tolerant and as the town has grown so have the other businesses. The Lucky Spur is getting less and less custom from the town.

Luckily, Queenie’s girls, Including Bella and Lily-May are popular with the River Boat Gamblers who ply their trade on the paddle boats. One of these is Jared Hawke.

Sheriff Rob Burbank has been called in to investigate the murder of the star whore of the Lucky Spur Rosy McBride. She was found by Ben (a simpleton who does odd jobs at the saloon) tied to her bed, strangled with her own silk stocking.
